Building Food Sovereignty – Celebrating the Opening of Wageningen’s Seed Library with Activists from Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon

June 27 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

What can seeds teach us about resilience, power imbalances, and food sovereignty?

Join us for a special visit of food sovereignty and seed activists from Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. The gathering will be combined with the opening of Wageningen Seed Library.

Visiting the Netherlands at the invitation of the Green MENA Network, these activists bring stories and experiences from their work defending local food systems, preserving seed diversity and building resistance across Westasia.

it is important to connect local and international struggles for seed sovereignty, biodiversity, and food justice. Through conversation and knowledge exchange, we will explore how communities can reclaim control over their food systems and strengthen connections across borders.

After the event, stay for lunch and continue the conversation in an informal setting. Lunch is available for a small donation to help cover costs.
