November has come to a close. Marking the beginning of the icy season - farm beds have been put to sleep, cover crops have broken through the crusty soil and at ASEED we are continuing to have lots of interesting discussions and actions.

During the past month we attended documentary screenings and discussions facilitated by the RICO collective at the Rietveld academy, Nieuwland and De Ceuvel. Here we learnt about the genocide of the Mayan indigenous population in Guatemala at the end of the 20th century. Next to this, the reading group continued with large attendance and eye-opening discussions on indigenous resistance in North America. We are still working on our reports of these events which will be available in the new year. We also attended the Local Conference of Youth to give a talk on our work at ASEED.

So after an insightful three months, we have closed the chapter of our first theme, Direct Action. A short story of our activities & insights over those months, with some memorable pictures, can be read here. On top of all this we even had time to make our first podcast!! Our follow up theme for the months of December and January will be Gender & agriculture.

Additionally, we've joined up with Patagonia Action Works who will be matching funds for any donations given through the platform. If you can spare the cost of a couple coffees, beers, or yoga lessons for supporting ASEED be sure to do it now, through this platform to help us save up a little more for our budget for actions in 2020.

For December some ASEEDers will go to the COP25 and others will attend a week long seminar with our friends from Soberanรญa Almentaria in Mura, Barcelona to explore gender empowerment in rural areas. Of course some of the team will stay in Amsterdam and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events. If you have any queries please get in touch!
