DeKweepeer Community Garden – Workshop #7 – Green Manure Cover Crops
September 25, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
In our last Soil-workshop of the year, we will focus on green manure cover crops. Green manure cover crops are plants you can plant in order to provide the soil with sufficient nutrients for next year’s crops, without having to apply synthetic fertilizers. This is an extremely important method to use in order to fight against the destructive nature of synthetic fertilizers. Join us to learn more about this exciting topic!
The workshop will take place in DeKweepeer, a beautiful community garden in Amstelveen, located South of Amsterdam. In DeKweepeer, we produce organic vegetables for family and friends and benefit dinners, by involving the neighborhood, refugees and young activists: https://dekweepeer.wordpress.com/. Throughout the year, we organize a series of workshops focusing on the topics of ‘Seeds and Soils’. By joining such a workshop, you will gain practical knowledge and might move a step closer to knowing how to grow your own vegetables. The workshop starts at 11am; after 2 hours of workshop, everyone is invited to join in on a potluck lunch; feel free to bring food you want to share! The workshops will be for free!
If you are interested in joining send an email to kweepeer.amstelveen[at]gmail.com
