Reading Group Cozy Edition – How do we connect to land?
December 16, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Hi friends!
The year is approaching its end and we would love to come together one more time, this time for a bit of a different reading group. Inspired by our last reading group this time we want to be guided by the question “How do we connect to land?”. Land is the basis of all life but what does it mean to be connected to it? What relationships can we build with what surrounds us? To reflect and explore the topic of land from a more personal perspective we will be reading (and listening to!) the following:
– Epiphany in the Beans- A Chapter of Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass
– Spoken word of Kathy Jetnil and Niviâna on climate change, connecting to land and their ancestors
– Poetry on land by Mary Oliver and other wonderful authors
– Spoken word of Kathy Jetnil and Niviâna on climate change, connecting to land and their ancestors
– Poetry on land by Mary Oliver and other wonderful authors
We invite you to join this session where we hope to create (even more than usually ) a relaxed atmosphere to exchange our thoughts and feelings about the readings and poetry. The readings this time are quite short and you can choose to read only some poems/readings, whatever resonates with you. We hope to see you next week!
If you want to participate you can contact alina[at]aseed.net to reserve a spot. Keep in mind, that even if we are meeting online we want to keep the group small to enable fruitful conversations so the max. amount of participants are 16 people. Once you have signed up we will send you the readings for this session and also later the zoom link to join the event. No previous knowledge is required, anyone who joins can have valuable insights!
ASEED is a small collective mostly run by volunteers. As always our events are free and open to anyone, but if you have the financial capacity to contribute during this crisis in any small way it would be greatly appreciated! You can do so by visiting the SUPPORT US (https://aseed.net/donate-to-a-seed-2/) page on our website!
