Ban pesticides in the EU: sign and support initiative Save Bees and Farmers

SAVE BEES AND FARMERS

In three days at the 20 of may it is the World Bee Day. We are all depended on the survival insects. Our biodiversity is at risk as never before. That is why the European Commission set a target in the "Green Deal" to reduce the use of pesticides by 50%. But the pesticide industry, their allies in the European Parliament and national governments are attacking this historic target.

That is why many NGO's in Europe work together and ask you to sign the initiative Save Bees and Farmers. This might be a bit different than what ASEED usually send through and we won't become a clicktivism collective sharing a lot of petitions from now on, but this one is worth you're attention.

This initiative will help to ban pesticides. Maybe not tomorrow, but in the long run. A very necessary step for our health and our biodiversity. Bayer-Monsanto is afraid of initiatives like this, so they spend a lot of money and energy to keep their toxic products on the market. Don't let them win. Don't be intimidated by the official request, please sign and ask friends and relatives to do the same. Ask organisations to include a call in their mailing or newsletter. Together we will win - we are already halfway there!

To help share the message you can support the video by Marie-Monique Robin: Enough! No more pesticides

Powerful call by Marie-Monique Robin (film The World according to Monsanto and patron of Monsanto Tribunal): sign the initiative.

It’s enough!
We don’t want no more pesticides on the fields.
The pesticides pollute our soils,
The food we eat,
The water we drink,
And the air we breathe.
They make our farmers and residents sick.
They contribute to the destruction of our biodiversity.
80% of the insects have disappeared in Europe
30% of the birds
The bee colonies continue to collapse
All this deadly business
Benefits a handful of multinationals
Like Monsanto, Bayer and Syngenta

It’s enough!

Basta!

ASEED is a small grassroots collective run mostly by volunteers. We are grateful to have the ability to put time and energy into researching topics around agriculture, climate and social justice! However, in order to keep up structures that support this work, along with organizing events and direct actions we need structural funding. During the COVID crisis it is especially hard to find the kind of funding that pays for our financial administration, small budget for coordination and project fundraising, and rent on our office.
A great way to help us stay structurally funded is to become a monthly contributor! You can do that by visiting the SUPPORT US page on our website.
