ASEED coordinates different solidarity projects.

In 2019 we had the pleasure to create Amsterdam’s Community Food Solidarity Project which supports small-scale farmers, refugee friends and alternative community kitchens. Solidarity farming events are organized to give support to agroecological farmers and refugees who gain paid work experience.

Community vokus (solidarity meals) are organised with local organic food directly harvested from the collaborating farms and food gardens. Nourishing exchanges take place and awareness is raised via events that intersect climate justice, the refugee crisis and food sovereignty struggles.

In the process a more diverse and mutually-supportive community is built.

In 2020 we have also created a project supporting community gardeners and community gardens in and around Amsterdam, creating workshops where common challenges could be shared and tackled and a network of knowledge and tool exchange was created. We’re excited to keep it going!
