Docu: The Future of Food

What is more intimate, more universal than food? Are we still deciding ourselves what we eat when we buy products from the supermarket? There is a revolution happening in the farm fields and on the dinner tables of America — a revolution that is transforming the very nature of the food we eat: genetic manipulation. This is the subject the documentary “The Future of Food ” investigates.

The future of our food?
The film offers an in-depth investigation into the disturbing truth behind the unlabeled, patented, genetically engineered foods that have quietly filled U.S. grocery store shelves for the past decade. Starting from the situation in he United States and Canada,  agriculture, hunger and abundance are placed in a historic and global perspective. The interconnectedness between politics and biotechnology is  demonstrated. Ethical and economic consequences  for farmers and agriculture are clarified and  alternatives are shown. The focus is mainly on North America but it shows the potential future for European agriculture. This film is a very informative introduction for anyone that has heard from genetic manipulation but would like to know which role this technology actually has in our daily lives. The film challenges everyone to take a position this subject.
