SOLIDARITY IS NOW

Group picture zoooom
ASEED is taking the gravity of the current situation very seriously, you can read our full statement at the end of this newsletter. For now we will not be holding any public events until further notice. We will continue with working at the Mahatma Gandhi gardens on Plantage Doklaan, as well as the solidarity project at the Pluk Groenten van West CSA with friends from het Wereldhuis. All of these will be conducted following the distancing guidelines. Please contact us if you want somewhere to garden safely in the Amsterdam area.

We continue these activities as we believe that keeping active by growing agro-ecological food outdoors, and showing solidarity with disadvantaged groups is of upmost importance during these times. We also want to keep working and sharing ideas, so our reading groups will continue online. The next reading group will be based around our new bi-monthly theme de-growth, which you can find a short introduction to here. We also see a strong need for community activism in the form of solidarity kitchens, providing shelter etc. in these times, so please look for initiatives in your local area.

For now we will continue our activities as outlined above and get involved in community projects individually. Please keep tuned on our social media and website to keep updated. You can also contact us at info@aseed.net for questions or suggestions.

Take care!

Covid-19 statement

It is frighteningly clear that we must join together in solidarity. The emergence of divisive and hateful speech that we see around us is unacceptable, as well as the use of this crisis to prop up industries which can not sustain a healthy future for us and the planet.

Now more than ever, we are realising that we live in an interconnected world, what happens to the most vulnerable of us, happens to all of us. Let’s take care of ourselves and each other, let’s not be controlled or divided by fear and hate. Let’s take this moment to reflect and hold each other up, and let’s build more autonomous power from below to emancipate ourselves from systems which allow such immense risk for the sake of profit.
