ASEED will be giving a workshop on “Exposing the links between fossil fuels and industrial agriculture and climate change”, where we will dive deeper into the issues we feel extremely passionate about and want to raise awareness on. We are working on building a grassroots movement from below that connects climate justice with agricultural justice. We are always looking for new people to come and help us expand this campaign, so bring your creative ideas or just your listening ears!
During the course of the weekend you can come and find us at our info stall which is full of interesting literature, stickers, and buttons. We will be joining a variety of stalls ranging from the urban farming collective Cityplot, the Dutch La Via Campesina group Toekemstboeren, the Biodynamic Association and many others connected to edible flowers and herbs, heirloom seed varieties, and organic farming. Over the weekend there will be workshops covering everything from learning to grow your own mushrooms, to fruit propagation, to worm composting and learning about seed sowing. There will plenty of activities for children and lots of animals to play with. This will be a great opportunity to also see all the farming activities happening on the edge of the city as there are plenty of CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture), vegetable patches and fruits growing out here.
In this time of climate change it is vital that we save and exchange our own seeds so as to nurture resilience and biodiversity. It is also just as important to resist the corporate takeover of seeds, so come along to this great weekend and be part of the growing movement of resistance. We look forward to seeing you there. If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to get in touch with annie@aseed.net .
