The future of the Lutkemeerpolder will be determined in 2024, and in the coming months are crucial to save the last fertile agricultural land of Amsterdam from sedation.
The construction of the largest distribution center (7 football fields) is planned at the end of Q1 this year, the partial revision of the zoning plan in Q1 is also on the municipal agenda. Now is the time to act powerfully and send a clear message to real estate developers who want to build on this fertile ground. Your support is needed now more than ever to make a difference.

That is why Food Park Amsterdam and Behoud Lutkemeer, are launching the ‘Save our green, away with grey!’ campaign; for the preservation of the Lutkemeer Polder and for the realisation of a Food Park for future generations. The success of this campaign hinges on the support of as many citizens as possible and a coalition of concerned parties who, like us, see that GREEN must too often give way to GREY. Together, we can send a strong message and secure a sustainable future for this valuable land.

Thursday 25 January the campaign website redonsgroen.nl went live.
On 28 January we kick off the campaign festively with an action afternoon in Stadskas Tuin van Toorop. It will be an active afternoon in which we officially launch the campaign, present new actions and also start working immediately. Do you want to act? Sign up quickly via this link.
Previous campaigns received support from more than 15,000 Amsterdammers, and involved organizations. This already caused Albert Heijn to withdraw from the polder and that 3 hectares of land were saved for urban agriculture. Now we are committed to preserving the remaining 42 hectares.
