ASEED Reading Group: Green Colonialism in Palestine –> UPDATE: also recovery space
May 16 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Free! UPDATE !
Due to the events of the past weeks, we want to host the social space of Villa Intifada as an informal reading cafe, but also as a recovery space.
Come for some food and drinks and, if you have the focus and energy, some *very* interesting reading. Strength to all our comrades, Viva Palestina!
📣 The last session of our Green Colonialism reading group is coming up! 📣
This time we’re turning our attention to Palestine, and as always, keeping a focus on food systems and land.
Green Colonialism is a concept that can be used to identify patterns in international relations that follow the colonial logic of (economical) domination, forced dependencies and extraction. The word “green” signifies the focus on projects that are called sustainable, climate change mitigation, adaptation or green transition. With these arguments or buzzwords, systems of exploitation and skewed relations are justified – yet again “for the greater good”.
We’ve collected a bunch of resources in different formats with the focus of Green Colonialism and Food Sovereignty in Palestine, and invite you all to an evening of learning together.
There are absolutely no requirements to attend, we want to give you the space to deepen your understanding of the Palestinina struggle and share it with your comrades. So, no worries if you didn’t have the time to read before, come anyway!
Interested in joining?
Send an email to siri[at]aseed.net to let us know you’re coming, and we will send you the reading list ahead of the session.
