Wasteless Culture Monday – Andean Seeds that feed the world

March 9, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Seeds are the origin of green life, a cultivated species that spreads to relieve hunger in the world. That is the primary purpose, but there are seeds that are grown in the Andes of Peru that have been conserved for more than 5 thousand years and today they do not only relieve hunger but also support the health of our bodies.

One of the cases is Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa), the golden grain of the Incas that la Pachamama is providing to the world through the work of the biodiversity guardians in the Andes.

Come and learn from Nora Vargas an Andean woman who works to visibilise the dignified and valuable work of Andean women. Be inspired by the efforts to raise awareness and solidarity between food producers in the Andes and food consumers in the Netherlands.

Taste Before You Waste’s Wasteless Culture Mondays offer a welcoming community to dine with and of course, plant-based meals made from rescued foods. With us you always pay-as-you-feel! Every Monday dinner features a co-created performance, workshop, discussion or screening. We offer a platform for filmmakers, organizations, musicians, performers and other creative minds to share their ideas. Come see for yourself and bring your friends along!

Note: We strive to serve all our food at the end of the evening to live up with our “wasteless” concept. The most effective way to do so is to provide a first-come-first-served service. Therefore, it is not necessary to reserve a table, however it is best to come between 18:30 and 19:00 to secure your spot and let the rest of the evening run smoothly.

After dinner, there will be leftover food so bring a bag, a box, a container, anything to carry some delicious fruits & veggies home with you!
