While the Israeli army is murdering and starving thousands of Palestinians to death in Gaza, the situation in the West Bank has also been getting worse and worse since October 2023. Freedom of movement is even more restricted than before, settler violence is roaring and the occupation forces are arresting and murdering people every day.
This is only possible because of the financial, military and political support of Western Governments, such as the Dutch government that has direct links to the Israeli army, providing them with weapons and financial support, or the German government being the second largest weapon exporter, providing 29% of all weapons to the Occupation forces.
One way to maintain occupation is to limit or prevent access to resources such as water, land, seeds and to create dependence on the occupying powers by forcing Palestinians to buy products from Israeli companies.
Agroecological farm Om Sleiman located in the Occupied West Bank fights for food autonomy and for taking back control over resources by producing food on Palestinian land for Palestinians.
Run by a group of 6 young farmers, organized as Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm, the farm provides food for 20 families, while providing space for workshops and discussions. The farm is located right next to the Apartheid wall, very close to the biggest settlement. In the past months, violence from settlers and the military has increased more and more. Moreover, it has become more and more difficult to maintain the farm financially.
