📢 Join the program of the FAF#8! 📢

Let us know if you are available and motivated to take part in this gathering!

We are excited to announce the eighth edition of our biggest yearly event, the Food Autonomy Festival (FAF), which will take place on June 21-22-23 at ADM in Amsterdam.

This year’s theme is Growing resilient roots in common ground!.

The objective of this three-day gathering is to make visible, connect, and celebrate alternatives and resistances to the corporate-controlled industrial food system. We bring together collectives, organizations, farmers, artists, academics, and others who fight for social and ecological justice, creating new relationships and strengthening existing ones. The FAF is a site of resistance, solidarity, and autonomy, where we aim to challenge racism, sexism, coloniality, and oppression in all its forms.

The FAF#8 will be structured around three themes:

  • Strengthening Social Justice in our Food Systems
  • Fighting Agrochemicals, Fossil Fuels, and Corporate Control
  • Building Food Autonomy in practice

We would love for you to attend the FAF and, if you’d like, share your knowledge and experience in the form of a workshop, talk, or panel. The content of the session is open to your design. Workshops can last up to 90 minutes and we emphasize non-formal education methods, making the sessions as interactive and accessible as possible.

In recent years, we established a solidarity fund to provide compensation for those who may be experiencing financial hardship and/or belong to marginalized groups. Nevertheless, since our budget is limited, we would like to ask you to reflect on whether the relatively small compensation we are able to give (it will range from 25 to 50 euros) will make a meaningful difference for you. If that is not the case, please contact us to agree to participate voluntarily; this will allow us to split your share and increase the compensation amount for the rest of the contributors who might need it more.

Every contributor will be compensated for workshop materials, and will receive food and drinks during the festival. If you have any questions regarding this, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

See you there!
